Uploading files to your web space
To place your web pages, images, and scripts in your web space, you must use a FTP client. We recommend WS_FTP, which is available free to non commercial users. Any FTP client will work just fine, but these instructions are based on WS_FTP. Other clients operate in much the same manner. Once you have downloaded and installed WS_FTP, start it up and create a new connection by pressing the "connect" button. Fill out the form like this:
Your user ID and password are the ones emailed to you after signing up. After you have filled out the form, click "ok" and it will log in. On the left side of the WS_FTP screen you will see the files on your computer. The right side shows files on your LlamaCom account. First, double click on the "public_html" directory. Any files you place in this directory will be viewable over the web.
Next, just select the files you want in the left window, press the "->" button and they will be transfered.
Remember, the file named index.html will be the page seen when someone accesses your site like this: http://www.llamacom.com/~JoeUser Return All text and original images copyright (C) 1998, 1999, 2005 Llama Communications call (877) 552-6220 |
